Kalahari/Great Wolf lodge question?
We are planning a short vacation at either GW Lodge or Kalahari.
Stupid question- are you in your bathing suit the whole time? If I wear a cover up will it get soaked? I hate being in a bathing suit but I still want to have fun with the kids
Do you have to bring float vests or so they provide them for the kids?

Re: Kalahari/Great Wolf lodge question?
Only been to Kalahari but I am sure it's the same. You can keep your cover up on, but in certain areas it will get wet.
There are a lot of sprayers etc and sometimes this big bucket would dump from over head and anyone standing in the vicinity would get drenched.
Also, if you are chasing your kids on any of the structures there is constantly water spraying, curtains of water you have to go through to get up the steps etc.
And of course, if you want to go on any of the slides yourself (which you should! They are sooooo much fun!) you will get wet.
When I am not comfy in my bathing suit due to bloat, period coming etc, just feeling fat that day , I will wear a long and lean tank from Target over it. It can get wet but it doesn't become cumbersome when wet.
At Kalahari they provide vests - any kid under a certain height has to wear them. You can bring your own puddle jumper though if they are more comfortable in that

Re: Kalahari/Great Wolf lodge question?
Thank you! Yeah, I have gained a few pounds in last few months and feel yucky in a bathing suit. A long tank is a good idea though- thank you!

Re: Kalahari/Great Wolf lodge question?
I went to Great Wolf in the Poconos last winter with a bunch of families from my son's school. We are doing Kalahari in the fall.
I wore a bathing suit with a cover up over it when I wasn't going on the rides. There was times when I was sitting in a chair and chatting, or having a drink at the bar (lol). So I was glad I had my cover up then.
But I did go on the slides/rides, with both my DS and some of the adults went together. We had a great time. When I was on the rides or on line, of course, I was just in a bathing suit, sans cover up.
But there were people of all shapes/sizes there, having a blast, so I really didn't feel self-conscious, and I have also gained a few lbs over the last couple of years. I wore a full coverage suit -- I like a tankini with a longer, looser fit, and a bottom that has a built in skirt... not like an old lady swim skirt, but a cute skirt for a bit more coverage. I wanted to be comfortable, especially since you are going to be climbing in and out of tubes and the like. Didn't want any wardrobe malfunctions. Some women wore like dri-fit type shorts over their swimsuits, which is also a good idea.
I think in any of the indoor waterparks, it's kind of the same philosophy as being at a pool or beach. I wear a cover up when I'm not in the water or about to go into the water.
Hope you have a great time!

Kalahari/Great Wolf lodge question?
We just went to Camelback, and go to Great Wolf every year...and everyone usually just wears a bathing suit. I wear a skirted tankini. No one is really paying attention to how other people look in their bathing suits! Have fun!

Kalahari/Great Wolf lodge question?
We went to Kalhari for the Fourth of July. If you are near most of the structures you will get wet.
I was nervous about walking around in my bathing suit (I have a two piece with a strapless top that is loose in the middle and then fitted across the bottom and you can wear it as high or low as you want across your belly. I bring it down to mid asss lol) as well, since I have NOT lost all the baby weight since having my DD 3 years ago. However, there were people walking around who were much bigger than in me in much smaller suits.
