Kartrite - water park

Has anyone been to Kartrite yet? A friend of mine is trying to decide between Great Wolf, Kalahari and this new place. Pricing for similar room at each is as follows:

Kartrite- $593
Great Wolf - $937
Kalahari - $976

She was leaning towards Great Wolf because apparently they just redid all the rooms, and have the most activities for little kids like story time etc. but the price diff for Kartrite is pretty significant.

Has anyone stayed there? Where would you go?

Re: Kartrite - water park

I have been wanting to try Kartrite but I heard they have only like 6 or 7 rides?
Not sure if this is true, but if it is, I don't think it would be worth it.
I need to do more research.
My friend is going this weekend, I'll ask her when she gets back how it was

ETA- foudn this.
If you look at it, it's not much. The flowrider we never use, the lazy river I don't count as a "ride" really.

So they have 6 rides/slides? I get groupons for kalahari and great wolf for so much less. From their advertising it seems ehh. I don't get waterpark feel. I am not sure why their advertising turned me off. We've been to every local waterpark and this one has zero appeal based on the adds we've seen.

Having been to all the others what would you prefer -- kalahari or great wolf? 2 and 5 year old. Thanks!!

never been to Great Wolf but you can't go wrong with Kalahari in my opinion.
It is great for all ages from little kids to adults.

They don't have a wave pool either, I looked into it, and doesn't seem that great. The rooms look cute though.

We have been to Great Wolf many times, and it's fun. Never done Kalahari yet

how many nights are they going for? because if that's one night that's expensive!!

i have been to both great wolf and kalahari several times. i think for that age 2 and 5 i would just go with the cheapest they wont know or care!!

Re: Kartrite - water park

Least expensive wins in my book 100% of the time. I prefer each for different reasons. I love the animatronic story time with cookies at Great wolf. I also like magic quest for the 5 year old. If you want more child focused lodge feel great wolf. If you want a swim up adult bar with a safari theme water park and an arcade kalahari.

Kartrite - water park

Kartrite is new and I still think they are building things too it. It was built to give some family entertainment to the new Casino that was built there. We will give it a try but I do not think it is every going to be on the same scale as a Kalahari.

oh that makes so much more sense now. They should say that in their adds. I am sure for people who want to gamble and have family time, this might be a good option for them. Now I understand why I felt like I do watching their advertising.

Kartrite got horrible reviews when it first opened. We had booked a room for one night a month after if opened, but my friend went before then and told me not to go. It’s very small and the food was terrible. We ended up canceling and booked a night at Camelback for cheaper.

The casino isn’t in the same building as the water park though, it’s down the road a bit. DH had a work event at the casino and wanted to see the water park and was disappointed they aren’t in the same complex.

I love kalahari. It’s more than a swim up bar, there are so many things to do for young kids. We go at least once a year.

Yes, Kalahari is absolutely amazing. And I don't even use the swin up bar. (I get my drinks at the walk up bar! Chat Icon )
