Kartrite Resort- NY
Hey! Has anyone been to the Kartrite Resort in the Catskills? We were supposed to go to Disney in March but decided to postpone since I don't think my 3 y/o will wear a mask on the plane. We've gone to Camelback twice and the kids had a blast, but I just wanted to try a different water park. Kalahari is crazy expensive the time we're looking to go and Great Wolf Lodge is renovating the toddler sections in the water park so that's a no go. Kartrite popped up on my FB feed and it looks cool, but I was wondering if anyone had ever been. Thanks!

Re: Kartrite Resort- NY
We were there for my daughters birthday in December. I like it a lot better than Kalahari - but my husband disagrees. My kids are 4, 6 and 9. I find the travel advisor reviews to be very accurate. The food at the water park was decent - the rest of the place - not so much and ridiculously expensive. Everyone loved the large hot tub pool where you could go inside and outside. It was a little chilly at times with doors being left open but VERY clean. I find the rooms much better than Kalahari or Great Wolf. All the extras are pricey. There were plenty of areas for us to have fun - all ages - but it is definitely smaller than the other parks. I like that better, but not everyone does. My kids are still talking about it months later - but admittedly we have done less during the pandemic. They cannot wait to go back. Very few people wore masks in December. If you have any specific questions, let me know - happy to answer.

Thank you for this! We wound up going last week and had a great time!
For anyone else thinking of going...
I think the resort is much nicer and newer than Camelback, which is the only other one I've been to- haven't gone to Great Wolf or Kalahari.
The water park is much smaller, but like you said in a good way. It's much cleaner and has a nicer layout than Camelback. The food was pretty good, expensive and pretty basic, but good for resort food. I also found the water park better for my kids age group- 3/6 years old. The toddler and young kid sections were great- there were 5 slides for toddlers and a splash area which was great. I also loved that they had tables right by the edge of the kid section and benches built into the walls so you could sit and watch the kids without standing around.
It was just my husband, my kids, and I so we didn't get to go on the bigger slides, but I did take my 6 year old on the mid-sized body slides which were good. The best part was the indoor/outdoor heated pool. It was snowing and very cold out and the water was comfortable and the kids loved being outside in the pool in March.
We got lots of prizes at the arcade, so that was cool. We didn't do any rock climbing or the ropes course but they looked like a lot of fun- kids were just too young for it this time.
The only downside is there's not much in the area- there's the Resorts World casino down the road and there's a town not too far with some food, gas, etc., but there's no other real attractions.
Overall, I liked it better than Camelback and we'll definitely be going back again!
