Katie was exposed to Coxsacki
She was exposed to it today at daycare. The little girl next to her had red sores/blisters all over her hands...how did daycare NOT notice this? They were terrible.
I'm so worried Katie will get it...

Re: Katie was exposed to Coxsacki
From what I read today and yesterday you are most contageous before your symptoms start, so hoepfully this baby wasn't too contageous and your little girl won't get it.

Since my dd has it now too. The doctor told us too you are contagious mostly until the blisters appear, so if they were out, hopefully she was not contagious anymore.

Re: Katie was exposed to Coxsacki
What are some things I should look for that may indicate she is getting sick? What happens when they get sick? I'm nervous. This little girl was in daycare yesterday too.

Yesterday I noticed that EMily was just a bit "off" and today she was coughing a bit and had a runny nose. By the time she woke up from her late afternoon nap she was running a fever and was coughing a lot and was just totally miserable.
I'd keep an eye out for her if she starts to feel warm and they do develop blisters on her mouth, hands, feet although I haven't seen them yet on EMily and they could only be in the throat/mouth where you wouldn't see them.
Just if she seems overly lethargic or cranky and feels warm then start watching her careful and keep an eye on that temp since Em's went up FAST!

Re: Katie was exposed to Coxsacki
IT will appear as a cold first in most cases. She will run a fever and the fever will be high. The final stage appears to be the blisters in the mouth and throat and possibly on the hands and feet too.
