Katz Womens Center
A few people I know went to a ceremony over at the Katz Womens Center yesterday and they said it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
Super pysched.
I am assuming that if your doc delivers at LIJ Med Center that and you give birth AFTER Katz opens that you automatically go there, right? I mean, they arent keeping the LIJ maternity ward open as well, are they ?

I work for Lij hospital and no the lij maternity ward is not going to be open. You will go to the new location. It is amazingggggg.

I delivered at LIJ in 2010. I am so excited for the new wing for this baby.
There is also an article in today's Newsday about the ceremony and center.

Okay just received an email from the vice president of public relations for the hospital. He said there is no definate date as of yet BUT likely the 3rd or 4th week of January.

I work there also and the rooms are gorgeous. the labor and delivery room is huge and so modern, the bathroom is like a hotel level big, modern and impressive. The entire bldg from lobby to family waiting areas are just welcoming.
I believe the opening date is around 1/11/12. So for all you ladies due around that time hold out for the new building!!!
And if you go to NSUH Manhasset you are definetly not going to be disappointed either.
