Kayla Ava 02/19/2009 Birth Story!
Weds 2/18/2009 DH and I took Sammie for a walk to get things rolling with baby #2.. she was already 3 days passed due date. I felt alot of cramps while walking, but nothing consistant.
I woke up early Thursday morning with contractions but kept dozing off so wasnt paying attention to time. At 2:12am I woke DH up and asked him to keep track for me, since I kept forgetting b/c they seemed to be coming close to each other. At that time they were 8 mins apart.
An hour later 3am we noticed they moved to 6 mins apart, but didnt feel water break.. but with first pregnancy my water never broke just leaked.. so didnt want to take any chances. So DH called our Doctor to let him know about contractions while I showered. Doctor said see if I can stay home for another hour or until contractions got unbareable. Figured okay since I needed to get things set up for Sammie. So I packed up diaper bag and food and made sure things were set for my father to care for sammie while dh and I were at hospital.
We left and went to Hospital at 4:30am. They checked me and I was only 2cm dilated and 80% effaced and still had my water. The doctor admitted me and said well see how things go. Around 9:30am the contractions were getting really painful and asked for epi. The doctor said i was 3cm dilated and if he broke the water himself it would speed things up. He broke the water, noticed baby had pooped in sac, and got the epi. Doctor left to go back to office. Said he would be only a 12 mins away and once I was ready he would be back.
Things just went fast once he left.. baby wanted out. Nurse said no time to wait for doctor I needed to start pushing. Baby was crowning and seemed to be going good for vaginal delivery.
Doctor arrived, and then Baby was going into Tachy cardia, and with the fact that baby had pooped in sac he was worried. Doctor did a bloodtest on baby from scalp and didnt like results. He said I had another 20-30 mins left of pushing and baby would not survive unless we did an emergency C-section.
I started freaking out, crying.. I just wanted my baby to live.. I didnt care how he had to do it, just get my baby out safely.
They brought me into another room, and started the C-section.. it was the weirdest feeling ever. I could feel them pushing and pulling (no pain) but moving things around. Finally I felt the pressure of the baby being taken out..
Asked for DH to tell me boy or girl.. I wanted him to be the one.
Dh said its a  !! and I heard her cry. It was music to my ears!! The last 1/2 hour was the scariest moment of my life and to hear her was just pure joy!!

Baby Bean #2!! Im soo in love with my two beans!! Big Sister Samantha is doing great being a Big Sister and loves her Little sister Kayla to pieces!!

what a great story...i even got a little teary-eyed at the end...but i do cry at everything nowadays...CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
