kaylie is two months today and has been drooling a lot....

for the past few days, she has been sucking on her fingers/hands alot, she had a horrible nights sleep last night, has been a lil cranky, and the topper was she used her pacifier all day today!...she hates that thing! and so i questioned if she is possibly teething....at first i thought na shes too young and then i read online that there isnt an age thats too young to teethe! some babies come out of the womb with teeth! so i cant believe it my baby girl is already teething!

what are some of your treatments/tricks that you use/used with your dc when they were/are teething? tiaChat Icon

My DS was an "early" teether as well, he started around the same age as your DD but didn't actually get a tooth til 5.5 months.

At that age, I'd just let him suck on his hands/pacifer and then when he got older I used a little tylenol at night and the frozen teethersChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

My son starting teething at 2 months and now at 4 months, i think his top 2 teeth are coming in.

It has gotten really bad the past 2 weeks. He uses his pacifier a lot, we tried oragel but it didn't seem to do anything, have given him tylenol on his really bad days, used the sassy mesh bags with frozen fruit for him to chew on and also froze a washcloth to let him chew on.

Well it hasn't really bothered him until now. It can take a few weeks before their teeth break through. Chat Icon

Re: kaylie is two months today and has been drooling a lot....

We've tried the teething tablets, tylenol, frozen washcloths, cold teething rings. None of it really seems to give her any relief....except on really bad nights we've given her tylenol right before bed b/c she was waking up several times crying.

Kaydyn started drooling like a faucet at 8 weeks and she is 9 months today and still no teeth.

Re: kaylie is two months today and has been drooling a lot....

My kids were teething at that age. My first DD cut 2 teeth at 3 months and my other 2 babies cut them at 4 months. Luckly teething didn't seem to really bug any of them so I never did 'anything' to help them with pain.

That being said drooling is a normal a behavior for that age. They start drooling because their salivary glands are starting to produce more saliva. They is no way to know if its really teething until you see a tooth.

Re: kaylie is two months today and has been drooling a lot....

Kristina started teething at 2 months, broke her top 2 teeth @ 4 months old.

I use Hyland's teething tablets and Tylenol - Just as of late I give her baby Motrin when it's really bad.

I don't like using Orajel b/c my BFF is in the dental care field. She told me that there is something in it that can throw your baby into allergic shock if they are allergic to it, as well as it numbs them out too much if you aren't careful, and they can choke on their tongue.

So Kristina will NEVER get that stuff.

What are teething tablets?

they are all natural - homeopathic tablets which have the right herbs in them to help soothe and calm a baby.

there is some controversy though with them b/c they have an herb in them called belladonna. the belladonna is a sleepy herb. in too much of a quantity it can put you out - coma out - but if you look on the website for the company HYLAND'S SAFETY INFORMATION A 10LB child would need to ingest more than 6 bottles of tablets for them to be dangerous.

i personally love them, and am thankful that they are around so that they can help DD through this time.

Re: kaylie is two months today and has been drooling a lot....

Infants typically drool and eat their hands a lot even if they aren't teething. Emma did it a lot, everyone said "oh she must be getting teeth". She didn't get a tooth until 10 months old. Same with DS.
