Keeping Salad Fresh!!???
I like to make a big salad on Sunday and bring some with me everyday for lunch but by Wednesday, the salad turns brown and yucky.....I've tried putting a paper towel in the tupperware and changing it everyday, but no luck. I even tried using those debbie meyer green bags, but it didn't seem to work either. I've done a google search and the only thing that I found was the "fridgesmart" containers from tupperware, but it seemed to have mixed reviews.
Anyone have any tips? Ideally, I'd love for it to last until Friday, but I don't know if I'm being unrealistic or not.

I've never had a salad last and keep fresh and crisp past a few days.
What I have been doing is buying Romaine hearts and just cutting one up each time I make a salad.

Re: Keeping Salad Fresh!!???
I do the same thing and mine lasts until thursday.
One thing I noticed - the top shelf on my fridge is colder than the rest. When i put the salad up there, it is not so happy and wilts faster.
Perhaps try another spot in the fridge. I don't think lettuce will stay fresh beyond 4/5 days no matter what you do.

Make sure it is REALLY dry after you have washed it. Also, keep tomatoes and cucumbers and other 'wet' veggies separate and add them later. And I'm presuming you are adding dressing when you are eating it. If not, keep the dressing off.

Plain lettuce should last that way for 5 days but I think it really depends on the type of lettuce. Romaine seems to last longer (especially if it's just hearts of romaine - yum!) than more delicate types of lettuce.

I have the salad spinner from Tupperware. I was the salad clean out the bowl and store it in the same bowl... it is a great set.. The lettuce was good for about 2-3 weeks.. If interested let me know I do sell tupperware and I am s vendor on this site.
