Keeping this from my parents for a while...

This is going to KILL me!!!!

DH and I have decided to wait until the last weekend in January to tell our families. We want to have our first sono first - my doc does them between 7-8 weeks.

I have a baby shower that I am going to be at with my mom for my cousin on the 17th and another really big family gathering the next weekend.

How in the world an I going to get through these 2 events without spilling the beans???

I am so excited (this is our first and most likely only) and wanted to tell them right away, but DH wants to wait Chat Icon

I've ALWAYS said that we were going to wait until we saw the doc and had a sono etc.
but I literally couldnt hold it in. About 15 mins after BFP we called our parents. It was about 1130pm. My mom frantically answered and said "omg whos dead?!" lol they were all sleeping

but it was still very nice

I know! Especially since she knows how much I love the champagne punch! Chat Icon

I guess I could tell her that I took some pain killers for my back and can't drink.... That should work, right?

She's going to beat me once we tell her and she knows I was pregnant at the shower! Chat Icon (beat me with love, of course Chat Icon )

you'll definitely have to blame it on taking antibiotics or something......I had the same thing happen to me at my SIL's shower back in October, EVERYONE was watching me and noticing I didn't have any wine (I always do!!).....I said I had a headache and no one believed me Chat Icon

just be careful of the way you word things that seem dur...

when i was at dave's nephew's birthday party - i asked for something without caffeine (totally normal for me, as i avoid caffeine due to TMJ) - but in the way i said it - both dave's sister and mother went hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

we didn't tell them for another month - but they told me that day they guessed...
