keratosis pilaris (chicken skin)
Does anyone have a child that has this skin condition? If so what remedy do you use? My 6 yr old son has this. TIA

Re: keratosis pilaris (chicken skin)
I have keratosis pilaris and use Amlactin. It's OTC but behind the counter in the pharmacy.

My daughter has this too. I don't use anything on it. It doesn't bother her.
Does the lotion actually make it "go away"?

When I use it every day- yes it works. BUT_ I always forget to put it on, so I still have spots.
I used it religiously before my wedding and it did work.

DS has this and DD has a mild case of it aswell and I use Gold Bond Ultra Healing cream on them. I notice a difference when I use it twice a day. It smells so good too.

Re: keratosis pilaris (chicken skin)
DD has it too (so do I, but mine has gotten better as I got older). I've used lots of different lotions and nothing has worked so far. The ped. prescribed Ammonium Lactate Cream 12% and it still hasn't helped. I've been using a Loofah on her problem areas (arms & legs) and that seems to have helped a little tiny bit. We're in the middle of moving but I think I might try taking her to a dermatologist after we move. She has a really bad case. People are always asking me if she has a rash.
