Kicking at 24 weeks?
What does your baby kicking feel like at 24 weeks? I have had some crazy spasms for about 4 weeks now. They don't see to be contractions or anything and the doctor is not concerned so far. But I hate these spasms and wonder if the baby could be kicking me that strong.
What does kicking feel like for you at 24 weeks?

Re: Kicking at 24 weeks?
the baby kicking feels like thumps on the inside of my belly. however, when she rolls my stomach gets this really weird feeling that i wouldn't really describe as spasms but could kind of be related to a sort of tightening. if i put my hand on my stomach i can feel her rolling right across it. every now and then she also manages to get into a weird position where one body part (usually her head) is pushing on (and stretching) one part of my stomach for a few hours - that hurts (feels like someone is leaning on my stomach with their elbow) and it feels hard in that one area because her head is right there. do either of those sound familiar?
do the spasms hurt or just feel strange? if they hurt i'd bring it up to the dr. again.

Re: Kicking at 24 weeks?
I guess the thumps sound the most familiar. They don't generally hurt, but I wish I could say I liked it. I guess the only reason I assume it could be something other than the baby is that I sometimes experience similar feelings in other areas of my body, legs and arms.
I also used to get these "spasms" before i was pregnant, but in my arms and legs, not abdomen so much. I used to call them "jumpy muscles" before I was pregnant. Now, these spasms are 90% in my abdomen. It may just be the baby moving and the nerves in my arms and legs reacting? I don't know. But I will continue to bring it up to the doctor.

That sounds like kicks to me. When I was around 24 weeks, it just felt like little pushes on the inside of my stomach. Sometimes they were jumpy, though. I think I could see them then too, but I am not sure.

I just felt the baby for the first time on Sunday!!! I'm 22 weeks 2 days. Mine felt like a Summersault too!! It was weird. Almost like I was on a boat, but I wasn't moving! And today I felt him ALOT!! It was cool. And just like butterfly20 said, it was like little thumps... I keep poking him hoping he will do it again!!

Re: Kicking at 24 weeks?
I'm going to be 22 weeks tomorrow and my kicking feels like what the others have described, a thumping from the inside. I've felt her roll once and it was the STRANGEST thing I have ever felt in my life. I really don't even know how to describe it. It was great though!

that's exactly what kicking feels like for me! i get the jumpy muscles in my arms and legs too (before and now). my dh thinks i'm strange by describing the baby kicking as muscle twitches, but it's true! the difference i notice between the kicking and actual twitches is that the kicking is consistently in my belly (and usually in the same spots until i feel her roll to a new one) and varies in intensity and speed (sometimes little groupings of kicks, etc.). i can also feel most of her stronger ones on the outside and sometimes my belly jumps (i don't usually feel muscle twitches if i have my hand on it).

Re: Kicking at 24 weeks?
they could be kicks or baby kicking a nerve or something...or laying on something in there to cause the motions.....
