Kids in school and potty training?
My son is in a toddletime program and we just started pee pee potty training this thursday (He has been poo poo potty trained since he was about 15 months).
He is in school for about 3 hrs, 2 days a week. How do we do this? Will the teachers put him on like every 45 minutes or hour or so? He isn't that great with asking to be put on....sometimes he does, sometimes he just goes when I put him on.
What has been your experience with this?

Re: Kids in school and potty training?
Jack was newly PT'd when starting school in Sept. I tried to take him as soon as he got there, and I also limit his fluid intake in the morning. The teachers now know his cues (he starts touching himself) but I was so paranoid in the beginning. I think he had three accidents in a month, and they didn't mind at all. I don't know how your school works it but they change his underwear and bottom and then I have to bring in a new pair of underwear, and wash the shorts and return them!
I have a feeling they really do this all the time when teaching this age group

Re: Kids in school and potty training?
DS was potty training in school too. I was super paranoid about it too. However, I just told the teachers and let them do their thing. They do this all the time and know what they are doing when it comes to this potty training. I would try not to let them worry about it and just let them do their thing. Bring several changes of clothes, and we were bringing Eddies little potty from home bc he was comfortable with it.

Re: Kids in school and potty training?
Thanks ladies. Did you put them right in underwear for school, or in pull-ups. With my oldest son we went right to underwear, not pull ups, but not sure if I should do this being that Chase is in school??

we did exactly what we were doing at home, we did underwear at home, so we sent him to school in underwear to be consistent. He had a lot of accidents the first few days (he also had to get comfortable with the school potty and asking his teacher) but the teachers didnt mind at all. Its par for the course for them I think.
