Kind of in a panic over going out of town and DD seemingly getting sick
We are going to be out of town for the holiday weekend and DD is showing cold symptoms. She seems to be susceptible to bronchitis and every time she gets a cold it always seems to settle in her chest. I know if I take her to the dr. they won't be able to do anything because right now it just seems to be the start of a cold. Is there anything I can do to try and kick this before it turns into something worse? I am so worried about being away and her getting worse.
I know options are so limited with a two year old. I wonder if they would give me a script to fill just in case . . .

Where OOT? Maybe take her in and if it gets worse you can call them and see if they can send a prescription to a CVS. Most Doc's wont prescribe something unless they see the child though and they are sick. Especially Peds at a young age. What about giving her more OJ, humidifier in her room, use the Vics on her or the plug ins, and just keep washing her hands and face. Keep her home for a bit or open windows for fresh air in the house.
I always lysol everything when someone is sick in the house and wash all the bedding.

I'd put a humidifier in her room when she sleeps, plenty of liquids, maybe some chicken noodle soup for dinner.

I agree with PPs
Call the doc or go in and get some meds for ‘just in case’ mine set us up with scripts when we traveled to Hawaii and she wasn’t even mostly sick but just ‘sorta’. We filled the ear drops and kept the other scripts on hand, just in case, so we could fill them there if needed.
Lots and lots of fluids
Elevate and humidifier
Baby Vicks Rub
Rest
For me, we also use homeopathic type meds to treat a cold first. Our stores are stocked with them. They are all save for 2 & up. Not as good as cough/cold stuff is for us but it has helped us kick things early.
Good luck!
