Kindergarten- Northport-East Northport

DD attended full time Kindergarten in West Islip, before we moved to Northport.

I have started looking into Kindergarten for DS, since the district only has half day (2 1/2 hours). He would have to go to Scope in morning, then to elem school and then after-care.

I would prefer he stays at 1 place all day.

I called LI Lutheran-Saint Pauls. It is $624 monthly, plus Over $400 for 3 days of after care. Over $1000 a month....It's like having infant in daycare!!!!

Are there any other options???? It kills me that the district is still half day...2 1/2 hours.. My DD learned to read, write and tell time in full day K, how is that all accomplished in only a few hours?

My friend's DS went to St Pauls and was happy.


My nephew is doing private K at the Learning Experience.

With the 2% tax cap, i bet more districts will go 1/2 day (Huntington switched this year)

but the studies show that all equals out by 2nd grade.

Our district (HF) is 1/2 and DS learned to read, write and tell time as well.
