King size bed in a queen size sleigh bed frame
I really want to get a king size mattress, but don't feel like replacing my queen size sleigh bed and matching furniture. Has anyone put a king size mattress in a queen frame? It is 16 inches wider so 8 inches on each side.

You can just use metal frame and get King size bed.

Look at the room you have with your queen size mattress. Does it look like there is another 8 inches on each side? I'd assume not, so I don't think it would work.

This question just makes me laugh. Imagine 8" of your mattress hanging over on either side of the bed. I'd be falling out of the bed all night long!

That's not a good idea at all. I think it would damage the mattress and could tip over too. Why not just suck it up and buy a new king size sleigh bed, can you try to match your existing other furniture?
