Kitchen Flooring!
We're working on the plans for our new kitchen. Right now we have ugly white tile from hallway to kitchen to dining room. We're going to see what is underneath but I doubt it is hard wood.
What flooring do you have? Pictures? What do you like/don't you like about it?
We'll probably go with some earth-tone tile but looking for alternatives.
This is the kitchen cabinetry we will be putting in: can't post pic but here is link -ikea kitchen

Re: Kitchen Flooring!
We have tiles in a neutral color. I love having tiles bc they are easy to wipe up but I wish I had a darker color. The floor never seems clean. I find that the floors are very cold (winter & summer).

I had a yellow lab & even though the floor was light, you could still see his hair. If you have a black lab, I would get something darker, so you can hide the hair...

Re: Kitchen Flooring!
we have porcelain tile. what I like about it is that with porcelain tile, the color is the same all the way through - so if it chips, you cant really tell!
I agree w/ kissy - its cold - which is good in the summer, bad in the winter. i would have installed radiant floor heating if I had thought about it.
i love the color - you cant tell that the floor is dirty at all!

Re: Kitchen Flooring!
we have hardwood floors. we love them. i think they are easy to clean. not to cold to walk on, but not very warm either in the winter. but i'm glad we went with hardwood.

Re: Kitchen Flooring!
Jen the hardwood is lovely - but I don't think it would work for us - not in the budget right now, unless we find hardwood under the tile!

You have a beautiful kitchen!
Not the greatest picture but we have ceramic tiles. They are a little cold in the winter but they are easy to keep clean and I like them!

Re: Kitchen Flooring!
We have a Dark Glossy Laminate. I advise against getting it if you have a dog. We can see all of our Chihuahuas hair.
Pictures are from before we moved in and were still working on the renovation

you can get prefinished hardwoods from HD in the $3-$4 PSF range. my porcelain tile was $7PSF

Re: Kitchen Flooring!
We have oak floors in our kitchen however I wish I went with a tile because with the kids running threw the kitchen with their toys and moving the kitchen chairs all around my floors are starting to look horrible I do love they the way they look just not realistic for my family.
