Re: Kitchen Nightmares: Tonight
I absolutely LOVE this show! I have to flip back and forth from Bionic woman though. I suppose I could just DVR one and watch the other but that would be too easy....

Is the series all about NY restaurants? I'm getting scared to eat out!

Re: Kitchen Nightmares: Seascape Inn in Islip
This is so awful. I had my rehearsal dinner there two years ago. Peter was so nice to us, but I don't think he has the personality to run a restaurant.
I KNEW Gordon was going to order the Lobster Ravioli. I had it the last time I ate there and didn't think it was too bad. I guess I don't have a refined palate.
I have some nice memories of the place, so watching this is sad.

Wow, that's a shame. To have a business like that in your family for so long and to sell it. That's sad.
It sounds like Peter has a lot of issues with his mom and dad. Maybe it was for the best that he did sell it...

It really was a very nice restaurant in the day... It's been sad to watch the place decline the way it did.

See, that is the thing that I don't understand. He BOUGHT that place a few years ago from an old timer. I can't wait to speak to my cousin tomorrow and see what he says. He was supposed to go to Peters house tonight and watch it, but got stuck at his job.

Ohhh I didn't realize! I just assumed they owned it the entire time. That was certainly the impression I got from the show...

DH & I watched it last night...I was so skeeved out when Gordon was in the kitchen pointing things out!!!!
Since I have a DH in the food industry, he kept reminding me that what I was seeing was nothing. The kitchens in NYC are 100 times worse

Oh yes, he has a running list. Even in places on the Island that he is not sure of, he tells me the things to steer clear of bc of what he has seen in NYC. Sometimes I am not sure I really want to know

Re: Kitchen Nightmares: Seascape Inn in Islip
Peter was def not fit to run such a business, its better off he sold it! I'm glad he finally got the balls to fire the two retards working in the kitchen, the new guy seemed more fit for the job.

I said to DH that I think we'll be eating home from now on. Home, or one of Gordon's restaurants. Other than that, you never know what's going on in those kitchens

I'm confused then... on the Kitchen Nightmares website it says: "Peter's father started the restaurant".

Re: Kitchen Nightmares: Seascape Inn in Islip
Who else thought the relationship b/t Peter and his mom was weird???
I can't believe that waitress worked there all those years......It was so nice when they included her in the photos on the wall............ I'm actually sad the place closed down.......for some reason, I don't believe they sold it for a good price like they said......

Probably as a hired employee. It sounds like many years later, his son bought the place.
