Kitchen renovations
Did you plan the layout yourselves, or did you hire a designer?
We are going to combine our kitchen with our formal dining room. If you didn't use a kitchen desinger can you please tell me how you planned and picked out cabinets, stone, and flooring? I feel so confused - There is just too much to chose from.

We also combined our kitchen with our dining room to make one nice sized kitchen. We had a basic idea of what we wanted to do but we went to different designers to get some ideas and then went with who with we liked best and who we thought had the best design.

How did you find a desinger? Did you go to a Lowes or Home Depot?

you can go to lowes or HD and they design for free. just make an appointment first. don't tell them you aren't going to use them possibly. You just need dimensions of the room(s). As much info as you can write down or think of. We also had Alure come in and give us an estimate.  I think most places do free estimates even if they come to your home, but I'm not positive. GL! Thanks for the tips! We are just starting this process and I'm already stressed.

Welcome!  We were very stressed too. Take your time and try to find a good place to deal with and a price you are comfortable with.

We did make an appt at Lowes and got some ideas from them. We met with two other designers that were recomendations from friends and ended up going with one of them.
