Kitchen Set for 18 month old Boy
Do you think this is an appropriate gift? I think the imaginative play would be great for our little guy, but DH is saying that kitchens are for girls!
What do you think? Does your DS play with kitchen sets?

fp has an elmo restaurant that i plan on getting ds for xmas... it is the same as a kitchen but not as girly

dh doesnt have an issue with it since a large portion of the top chefs in the world are men... my father is the only one who has an issue with it... but he also flipped out when i had ds in bue snowflake pjs last year

My Ds loves his cousins play kitchen. We have hte Elmo restaurant and he enjoys that as well!
he will be 2 at christmas and I plan on getting him a full kitchen. DH says they are for girls but I just ignore him!

His favorite part was dumping the food out of the two little "baskets" all over the floor. I don't think he really "got" it at that age but he liked pressing all of the buttons to hear the electronic sounds for the microwave, dishwasher, and stove. He plays with it more now and he is 2.

I just returned from Costco where I bought the Step 2 Kitchen....Great deal! 115.00 at Costco, listed at Step 2 for 149.00 if anyone is interested.

I actually think a work bench is better for 2+. DS has a kitchen, but not a fancy one, from about 8 months until 18 months or so and liked it!
He is getting a work bench for Christmas this year, he will be a touch over 2.5

My son got this one for xmas last year He was 16 months! He LOVES it!!! I don't see anything wrong with it! Just an FYI he plays with a doll house too. I'll explain, DS #1 (who's almost 13 now) got this from a friend of mine way back in the day. He was into Rescue Heroes and he kept on saying he had no people to save like they do in the videos, lol.. so she went out and bought the entire fisher price set for him, people furniture, cars you name. Just so the rescue heros could have a family to save!! LOL.. P.S. DS #2 plays with it now!! he's 2!..
No reason for the girls to have all the fun!! GO Get him the kitchen!!
