Kitchen Set for boys

So, quick question - what kitchen set would you recommend for a 2 year old boy? And is getting the shopping cart too girly? DS loves it when he visits his cousins - I am wondering if I should get it the shopping cart with the kitchen set.

We are getting this for DS I think for Xmas. I wanted to get him a kitchen too but DH thinks its too girly Chat Icon

oh and WITH the shopping cart, which DH thinks is girly, which I may add is ironic since DH does the food shopping

DH fought it originally also until he saw DS started going through my tupperware drawer with a spoon and kept saying "i cooking". He also LOVES to go grocery shopping with me.

We are getting him some cars and sporty stuff too cause DH insists.

I keep telling DH I am teaching DS to be the perfect husband one day! Chat Icon Chat Icon

He LOVES them both In fact, whenever we have playdates at our house, all the kids gather at the kitchen (just like the mommies do in the real kitchen Chat Icon Chat Icon )

Ours is the older style of this one from a few yrs ago when they had that awesome saleChat Icon A lot of us on here have it.

It is great. Great size too. And sturdy.

For DD I might get some add ons but for Andrew, it is and was perfect.

Andrew started using his when he was walking around. Not that he was "cooking" or anything but he would pull the drawers out and play with the fridge. Then I say he didn't start to pretend to cook until he was 2.

This is the one we got for DS for Christmas. He will be 18 months old then.

He loves it at his cousin's house so I don't think it's too girly.

I also want to get him a shopping cart. But will probably get him a cheapo one. Haven't given it much thought yet.

DS has this one too. He got it for Christmas last year when he was 16 months. He loved pulling open the doors and shutting them. He also loves the light (still) that he can turn on himself. Now he is 26 months and is starting to cook a little bit. But he mainly still uses it as a drum. Chat Icon

This is the one that we have too - and I LOVE the size - big enough to play with and use but small enough to not overwhelm the room (it is currently in our den) and to fit in many different places.

I just bought the Elmo restaurant for DS's 1st b-day in Jan. Right now he has the FP laugh & learn shopping cart, which he loves.
