Kitchen sink help

Went to Blackman and found a sink I like. Kohler 30” undermount 16 gauge stainless
Total with drain (I can’t believe that’s a separate purchase!) $700 w my plumbers discount.

I googled best under mount stainless sinks and found Frigidaire pro series (same as my appliances) has same size and same gauge for half the price.

As per my plumber, he never Installed one and said to do my research. 90% of reviews all over are 5 star. Some complain of draining issues and others of rust spots. But I found. Those same type of complaints for other brands too

As per my brothers friend who could get my the Kohler for a little less, he said it’s the same exact thing and I’d be paying for the Kohler name.

Anyone have an opinion on this? Anyone have this specific sink or similar sink? Do you have the Kohler and love it so much I’d be crazy not to get it?

This kitchen is wayyyyyy over budget right now so I’m trying to find ways to save a little here and there but not worth it if it’ll be a problem.

Thanks !

Kitchen sink help

When I did my kitchen I got a Franke (I think that's how its spelled) sink online - I think ebay. Much much cheaper than that - I believe it was around $150 and that was a great price. I've had it about 11 years and no dings, dents, or rust spots and no draining issues. My sink is a different size so I couldn't comment on the price for the size you need. From what I was told, Franke is one of the best in quality for sinks. Maybe search online for a Franke, even on ebay. A few plumbing supply places sell items on ebay.

Re: Kitchen sink help

I have a fairly large Blanco sink, can't comment on what it costs because I don't remember when we did parts of our kitchen about 8 years ago.

But, it is in great shape. No rust spots, no scratches, no discolorations, just faint marks where the feet from the grid rub on the actual sink. I use baking soda to clean it, nothing else.

Can’t help with Kohler... I have a Franke Orca sink. It was around $700 with the drain and bottom grid. I questioned the $$ as well, but now I feel it was worth every penny. I love it. It’s huge smd easy to clean.

Did you check costco. They have a lot of sinks for $200-300.

Re: Kitchen sink help

I got my sink from Ikea. I paid about $200 for the sink and I ordered the faucet from amazon for about $50. It‘s been very good and I‘m happy with it.

I have the same sink and spent about the same money on it and the grid. Very happy with it and love the shape.

You get the best of both worlds of the D shaped sink and the wide sink.

I spent the money primarily for the shape, as there weren't others out there that shape at the time.
As long as you get a stainless sink that is a heavy gauge it should be OK.

No experience with Kohler or Frigidaire but we have a Vigo 32" 16 gauge sink that came with drain and grid. I think we paid around $250 from Home Depot. We've had it for 5+ years and no issues. Love it.

Re: Kitchen sink help

A lot of the sink Recs seem very similar to the Frigidaire I saw on Amazon. I went through reviews on every sink imaginable lol
I decided to go with the Frigidaire sink because review & price wise, they are all similar.

Fingers crossed !

Thanks everyone.
