Our Man Tony has died
I am gutted!!!
eta...and there was an earthquake here in Manchester today. I wonder if the two events were connected...it would be just like Tony to go out with an earthquake!

Yes that and on another board I sometimes go on brought about the idea of how it happened when New Order broke up (yet again).
Who knows. I usually don't get affected by "celeb" deaths but this one has bothered me. Maybe b/c the music he brought about shaped my life. Maybe I am just getting old. Still it is a sad situation.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner, time zones do that.

He has had cancer for about a year.
My husband was saying that about 3 weeks ago he was on a political chat show on TV and he looked absolutely terrible, anyway, his mobile phone went off in the middle of the show and he was really fumbling around, and nervous trying to shut it off. It was really sad.
Its sad, he was only 57! We are going to break out 24 Hour Party People this week and have a good watch of it. I used to see him all the time here in Manchester...at the supermarket, in town...I will miss seeing him.

OMG Bez lives in my neighbourhood! How funny is that. I never see him around, but everybody else seems to. Are you a big Madchester fan then???
