Knitters who can also crochet (or vice versa!)
What is faster? What is easier? More fun? I only know how to crochet and was just wondering if knitting was worth learning!! TIA!

I tried teaching myself knitting.. I found crochet basic stitches alot easier to learn than knittings, and goes alot faster. I saw results quicker with crocheting which keeps you motivated.
i think the more you do the quicker youll be with both, but personal found crocheting more fun.

Crocheting is quicker and I think more difficult. I knit and I like what you can make compared to crocheting. The fabric comes out thicker with crocheting, IMO. Knitting is just two stitches and once you start you will surely be addicted.

I think it depends on what you start with. I've been crocheting since I was 5. I just can't get the hang of knitting. I get frustrated with the counting stitches and find crocheting to go a lot faster.
I wish I could knit better. I guess I just need more practice.

This is me too - I am all thumbs when it comes to knitting, I'm sure with practice I could do better ...i just haven't had the patience for that yet

Re: Knitters who can also crochet (or vice versa!)
i've been crocheting since i was 7. taught myself how to knit at 27.
faster: crochet easier: both more fun: depends on the item you'd like to make
i strongly suggest giving it a whole-hearted try to learn. it's such a different world with so many more posibilities.

This is what I heard too. Whichever you start with, you find easier. I love to crochet, have tried knitting a few times and just can't seem to get motivated to really learn. Plus I knit left-handed, which seems to make it more difficult for me to learn.
