we LOVED both the above mentioned places. went to teh curry club twice, yummm.  we sat "in the train"  (am I remembering that correctly?)

I agree with the Hicksville recommendation. There are sooo many good Indian places there! One of my favorites is House of Dosa. I think it's on 107.

I can't rememebr the name, but on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Center there is a wonderful indian resturant and they have live entertainment sometimes. Great food :)

Jewel of India (I think it's Oyster Bay on Jericho Turnpike)
Also, there are tons of places on 107 in Hicksville to chose from.
My favorite by far though is the Bombay Palace in Manhattan
Edited to remove the Curry Kebob since roaches are not welcome to share my diner with me

i was going to recomend this place too - we go there all the time - and its soooo inexpensive - and sooo delicious!!!!

If you're looking for nothing fancy but really good food, the Curry Kebob on 112 in Medford.
we used to go there...until a few cockroaches made an appearance at our table.... and this was in a VERY crowded restaruant!!

Roli Boli in Jackson Heights.
Jackson Heights and Floral Park have a big Southeast Asian population. Gotta be lots of great places there.

Wow, that's so funny, we go there so much too! We live in east northport, but we travel to Hicksville for it because it's so good.
Do you get the dosa's? I love masala dosa! I never had one before we went there, a friend of my mom's from India recommended it.
