Kristin Cavallari's baby name
Kristin Cavallari named her daughter Saylor.
This is so stupid but it ticks me off so much because a couple months ago I decided if baby was a girl I would name her Sailor. I love the name and it just randomly popped in my head one day while driving. I loved that even more it was original. I didnt hear it anywhere or "steal" it from anyone. Well now she names her daughter Saylor and Bristol Pailin announces she is also naming her daughter Sailor. Everyone (except for my family who I already told) is going to think I copied them. First world problems...I know...lol.

Yeah, it's annoying when that happens. Especially when the name becomes too popular afterwards. My sister always LOVED the name Bella. She talked about it since we were kids that it would be her future daughter's name. Then Twilight came out and totally spoiled it. lol. I mean, she could have still used it despite the annoying character, but the problem was how much the popularity of that name skyrocketed since the books and movies. So that ended that dream for her, since she never wanted anything too common. I also remember in high school my teacher had just had a baby and he was so bummed out because he had named her Emma and then right after she was born (within weeks) Rachel on FRIENDS named her baby Emma too. I remember him making a comment about how popular that name will probably get due to it. I'm not sure if FRIENDS really helped, but that name had definitely grown in popularity.
But in the end, really ANY name can suddenly become overdone at any time. I think you've just got to go with something you love, regardless.

I felt that way about the princess and the name Charlotte. I was disappointed when she used it because I always knew I would want to name my second dd Charlotte. It is pretty popular anyway - but I was afraid people would think I was using it because of the princess.
Now I just don't care. I love the name and I am going to use it!

Yes! Emma totally became more popular after FRIENDS! I remember that! :)
In the end I'm going to name my child what I love regardless. I was just so excited that I thought of something original and now it doesnt feel quite so original anymore since most will think I got the name from her. Yeah its no biggie just a smidge annoying. :)

I agree with this. If you love a name so much who cares who else uses it. I wish I liked a name that much so I could just pick one already!
I like the name Saylor but hadn't heard it before, and no one in my family would know who Kristin Cavallari is anyway so they would have no idea someone else used it.

Charlotte was my girl name too at first. It was for years. I have a DS named Jack and I just thought Jack and Charlie sounded so cute together. About 4 acquaintances named their DDs Charlotte since then so I decided not to but I do LOVE that name!

I wouldn't stress it. She's not a crazy famous celebrity where everyone would remember her baby's name and while more people may choose that name, I still think it's unique enough where it won't be a top 10 name any time in the near future.

That happened with me with Charlotte as well!
I'm just upset because 3 years ago, my daughters name, Amelia, wasn't very popular, and now it's a contender for top name!

Who cares?
My kids are Mason (ooooh, you must love the Kardashians!...I don't) and Emma (oooh, like Rachel's baby from Friends...um, k). Both are very popular names. I don't care. I love those names and I wanted to name my children those names. My kids, my choice on names. I don't care what anyone else says.

Same here. My daughter (3 weeks old) is named Charlotte and her name has been set for years prior. So when the princess was named I was thinking of course it's going to blow up but I haven't thought twice about it now that's she's born lol
