Kristina's new favorite cup is...
a friggin straw sippy!!!!!!!! This child amazes me every single day. I never thought that she would catch on to the straw as quickly as she did!

My girls only ever liked the straw sippys. They started drinking from them at 6 months old.

She's so cute.
Its amazing what babies can do. My son would only drink from those straw cups for awhile. He started at about 5 months. I was amazed that he even knew how to suck!

So, now, for you BTDT mommies... when did you start transitioning the milk over to the sippy?
She takes good sips of her water from her sippy (it's the only thing I put in there as of now), when did you start putting milk in the cup? Or did you start that right away?

no milk until 12 months....she needs the formula now. I would just put water or VERY watered down juice in the cup for now. Once she transitions to milk in a few months, then you can put that it there
eta - I may have misunderstood your ?. If you are asking about putting formula in the sippy, I tried that with dd but she did not take to it. I kept her on the bottle for the formula until she transitioned to milk, the day she transitioned to milk is the day we started using sippys 100% of the time

lol... yeah - i totally meant the formula. I'm just wondering b/c all she does is sip the water right now if I should even start trying to get her to drink her milk through it..... Or will it just go to waste.
ETA: She is not allowed to have juice. She gets her fruits either at a meal, or as a snack (in the mesh bag thing) throughout the day, so I don't feel that she needs any kind of juice at all.... I would prefer that she learn how to drink water and that's it to rehydrate.

we started trying formula in the cups right away. My first DD took to it right away but my second DD took about 2 months till she would drink formula from the sippy. Both my kids were off bottles early. My first DD was 10 months old and my second DD wes 11 months old when we tossed the bottles.

Honestly, IMO, I wouldn't put formula in a sippy. I did water until he transitioned to milk at 11.5 months. For us, it worked out perfectly b/c he loved milk and therefore kicked the bottle habit right away!

Those are perfect to introduce while teething b/c the nuby straw requires them to bite down on while sucking inorder to get the liquid. Thats how dd learned to use straw too.

B/c it isn't really worth it. Plus, they don't drink the same way out of a cup as they do out of a bottle. I've always found that Christopher drinks out of a sippy like I do out of a cup, not how they drink formula, KWIM?
It isn't BAD or anything, I just found it easier to get rid of the bottle and the formula at 11.5 months and put the milk in a cup. He loved milk, therefore loved the cup, it wasn't same old, same old
