L & D last night
I had my first labor and delivery experience last night! For several days I had a bit of a stomach bug. Yesterday at work I started feeling crampy. I drank as much water as I could but the cramps just got sharper. Anyway I called my doctor and they told me to drink more water and call back in an hour. I drank a ton, still felt cramps so I called. Well their office was closed at this point so the doctor told me to meet him at labor and delivery at St. Catherines! I freaked out!
My best friend brought me there to keep me calm. I was the only patient, so I was treated really well by the nurses. They hooked me up to a fetal monitor (turns out I was having contractions, not major ones but they were happening). They gave me an IV since I hadn't been drinking enough while I was sick with a stomach bug. Then Dh showed up...thank goodness! Then I had to have another sono (basically a level 2 all over again, which lasted for an hour or so). It was nice seeing the baby again, but I just wanted to hear that I could go home and they weren't telling me that! I had to have a pelvic sono (luckily cervix was not affected by contractions) and I had to have a renal sono. They round kidney stones! GREAT!!!!
Then I was brought back up and hooked back up to the monitor, still having contractions! I felt like I was there forever! After a few hours of rest they determined baby would be fine and that I can go home but I must drink TONS of fluids and come back if I feel any change in cramps or contractions. How is that for scary at 21 weeks! 
I am staying in bed all weekend!

That is very scary - try to rest up this weekend and drink lots of fluids!!! Glad the baby is ok!
