L.A. City Attorney Condemns Paris Hilton Transfer
Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, whose department handled Paris Hilton's probation violation case, has blasted the L.A. Sheriff's Department's decision to reassign the heiress to house arrest.
"Today I was extremely troubled to learn that the Sheriff's Department has decided to release Ms. Hilton from custody just three days after she was admitted to county jail," Delgadillo said in a statement Thursday.
"Had we been provided with the proper notification, we would have opposed the decision on legal grounds."
Delgadillo added that he found the release on medical grounds "puzzling" since he says L.A. County jails are "well-equipped" to deal with inmate medical situations.
"I am also concerned that the judicial process may have been improperly circumvented in this case," Delgadillo continued. "I have directed my criminal branch to immediately explore all possible legal options to ensure that the law is being applied equally and justly in this case."
The chief prosecutor added that only the judge had the power to modify the conditions of her sentence.
"If law enforcement officials are to enjoy the respect of those we are charged with protecting, we cannot tolerate a two-tiered jail system where the rich and powerful receive special treatment," Delgadillo concluded. "We must ensure that in our city, in our nation, and under our Constitution, justice remains blind."

While I completely agree with everything he said, I can't imagine the reaming he's going to get from his boss over this.

Paris Hilton ordered to return to court

LOS ANGELES - Hours after Paris Hilton was sent home under house arrest Thursday, the judge who put her in jail ordered her into court to determine whether she should be put back behind bars. Hilton must report to court at 9 a.m. Friday, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told The Associated Press.
"My understanding is she will be brought in in a sheriff's vehicle from her home," Parachini said.
Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer issued his order after the city attorney filed a petition late Thursday afternoon questioning if Sheriff Lee Baca should be held in contempt of court for releasing Hilton Thursday morning.
The celebrity inmate was sent home from the L.A. County jail's Lynwood lockup shortly after 2 a.m. for an unspecified medical condition in a stunning reduction to her original 45-day sentence.
She was ordered to finish her 45-day sentence under house arrest, meaning she could not leave her four-bedroom, three-bath home in the Hollywood Hills until next month.

Oh my goodness, I hope you are kidding too. While I agree with most of what he was saying about the Paris situation being economically and racially biased, he really needs to stop flocking to controversies like a fly to poop.

Did Paris Catch ANOTHER Break This Morning?
A spokesman from the Los Angeles County Superior Court has announced that Paris Hilton might be allowed to appear by phone this morning, instead of having to face the judge in person.

CONFIRMED! Paris WILL Phone It In!
TMZ has confirmed that Paris will appear at her hearing today via telephone.
We've also learned that LAPD is turning people away from her Hilton's West Hollywood home who don't have the proper press credentials. Luckily, we do.
War in Court Over Paris
Now, TMZ is learning that there is a battle raging inside the courtroom between Paris' lawyer, the City Attorney and the Sheriff's Dept. over the decision to allow Paris Hilton to appear by phone this morning.

I hope they throw her a$$ back in jail. What possible "medical condition" could she have that was so horrible she had to leave jail? Noone else gets out of jail b/c they dont feel good.
