Lab Owners - Vaccum Question

I have 2 black labs that shed like crazy. My vaccums cannot keep up with their dog hair. I sweep/vaccum at least once a day.

Can anyone reccomend one?

Our vacuum stinks, I'm seriously considering getting the Dyson that's specifically made for pets. It's pricey but I've only heard good things about it.

I don't have a lab but I do have a 80 lb AB that sheds like crazy. I love my Kenmore Progressive especially that it's NOT bagless and doesn't hold that dog smell . The stair tool is awesome and powered. I've had it for about a year and it's been working great!

Re: Lab Owners - Vaccum Question

Sorry I don't have a lab - but I have a long haired Golden Retriever and the Dyson for Pets DOES NOT work for us

It gets clogged of her hair all of the time we have to take the brush off and the belt and untangle her hair almost with every use. I hate it!!

So I can't recommend one - but I can tell you which one I don't like Chat Icon

This is what we have -- and works well for us.

Re: Lab Owners - Vaccum Question

I don't have a lab, but I had a white shepherd who shed like it was her job... The bagless vacuums are not good enough. You really need a good vacuum cleaner with a bag.

We had an electrolux at the time that worked great. It had a special furniture attachment that really helped grab pet hair. (We didn't allow her on the furniture AT ALL, but this attachment worked great on the stairs and on the rugs where she would sleep.)

I know some of you may think I have lost my mind for spending this much on a vaccum, but with three dogs, 1-white, 1-black, 1-gray- there is no escaping dog hair so we bought the Dyson DC animal- its made especially for pet hair, we have had it for 2 years and never had a problem. It works so well my parents who have a constantly shedding golden retriever they even come by to borrow it because their regular vacuum s*cks! It works WONDERS!!!!!!
Best of luck

Re: Lab Owners - Vaccum Question

if you do go with a Dyson get the DC25... It has the best beater-bar and it's easy to remove when you need to clean it.
