Lactation counselor question for BTDT moms
If you met with a lactation counselor for BFing, did you do it before the baby came or after? It seems like it would make sense to do it before, but I wondered what most people do.

After...It definitely helps to have the baby to be shown how to properly latch.
ETA: Also, you may not have any problems with BFing and not need a LC.

I did both , I took BF class that was offered at our hospital (st. charles) and then the LC would come into your room after the baby was born, and I called her many times from home to - she was EXCELLENT !!

I took a class before, met with them each day I was in the hospital and have called with questions a few times since we've been home. The two ladies I've had help me are angels and really have helped me over some of the hurdles.

I took a class at the hospital with the LC who would be there after I gave birth.
My PED's office also has an LC on staff, so I had support for after lined up as well.

But my sister's a La Leche Leader so she prepared me for months before

I met with a LC in the hospital after she was born, she came a few times during my stay to help b/c my DD had problems with her latch.
