Ladies Need Your help
I am going to try and make this short but I may ramble.
My name is Julie and I am "30" weeks pregnant. The reason for the "" is that my DR appt last night has me crazy.
My due date was originally Nov 15th. However my sis is getting married Nov 11th so 1 of my Drs(I have 2) suggested she would induce me at 38 weeks if the baby was ready) My other DR is hesitant to do so.
OK now to last night. While the Dr was measuring the baby all the measurments were coming out to 33 weeks, not 30 like they r saying. AND the baby is already 4lbs 10 oz. He said normally around 30 weeks the baby is 2lbs and change. The reason I am so skeptical about the due date is we were never able to give my DR a definite date for my last AF. I had a miscarriage before this and had the D&C on January 12th. I got pregnant very soon after and wasnt keeping track.
So my ?s are
1) CAn I be further along than they think (33 weeks) since the baby is the size he is
2) Is the baby just that big and is it normal (The dr said its fine but I need to hear this from some of you) and I really am 30 weeks.
3) has any1 been induced before their due date on or around 38 weeks ?

1) Yes you defnitely can. Other women on this board measured ahead of schedule. I believe they confirmed with an amnio.
2) Not an MD, so I'd say your doctor has a vested interest in being honest with you.
3) I haven't been, my co-worker/lurker (hi rebecca!) friend was induced due to gestational diabetes.

first of all for all this confusion you are faced with!
I dont really know for certain the answers to your questions.. but my thoughts are
- yes, you can def. be further along than they think.. esp. since as you said, you conceived after a miscarriage and you dont really know for sure when you ovulated.. I think being off 2-3 weeks could def. be possible, esp. if the baby is measuring bigger than 30 wks right now!
- it is possible that the baby could be measuring ahead for its age and you are still 30 wks, but I dont think that your doctors would take that chance and encourage being induced if they truly thought you were only 30 wks right now..
- I know that many ladies on the boards have been induced before their due date, due to various medical issues and such.. You might have better answers if you crosspost this on Parenting to see what the "BTDT"mommies have experience... but by 38 wks baby is pretty much 'cooked' in there so I know that he would be ok!!

It's certainly possible that you're further along than 30 weeks, but that's not neccesarily the case. I'm measuring big too. My baby weighed in at 5.1 lbs at 32w5d.

TY ladies ....I guess it is quite possible I am further along. I have my next appt. 9/29. Then I see my other Dr so I will ask her too.
nferrandi, you made me feel much better to see that the size is normal. I heard the number and got nervous so TY again
