Re: Ladies who run
I have been following this schedule for a while now. The key with Tues and Thurs is crosstraining. It can be elliptical or spin but low impact and high cardio is key!
Monday- 55 minute run (about 6ish miles)a slow comfortable pace but hilly route. Lower body strength training.
Tuesday- 1 hour spin class. Upper body strength training
Wednesday- 55 minute run..speed workout (about 6ish miles) and lower body strength training
Thursday-1 hour spin class and upper body
Friday OFF!
Saturday long run. When not training, about 12-13 miles. When training anywhere from 12-23 miles.
Sunday OFF or Yoga or light recovery run if I ran over 18 miles.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions!

Re: Ladies who run
on any given week I
day 1. bring in my gym bag to workk...convince myself I am too sick/tired/busy to run
day 2: bring in my gym back, give myself a huge pep talk, run the 3 miles to my home
day 3: tell myself I did good, but need a day off
day 4: it turns into two days off
day 5: bring in my gym bag, run home again
day 6 and 7: the weekend. too busy to run
this is my OLD schedule.
this morning after my dh got up to go running I was so inspired, I got up early and ran.
I am REALLY REALLY going to try for
3 2.5 to 3 mile runs during the work week.
moving up to adding a 4 miler on the weekend.
I am aiming for Tues, Wed, and Friday...adding the Sunday 4 miler once I get the three days going steadily.

Re: Ladies who run
I don't really have a set schedule. I go by how my week is looking. I aim to do a minimum of 3 miles each run and try to run 4 days a week. One of those days I like to run for over an hour. I like riding by the seat of my pants

Re: Ladies who run - EDITED with a question on the bottom!
I run for weekly mileage and base the distance of my daily runs on how I am feeling and how busy I am that particular day.
My goal mileage is 40 per week with either two days off or one day off and a short, easy run on the other day.
ETA: I listen to lots of pop music when I run: Britney, Christina, Justin, Fergie, Destiny's Child, and N'Sync.

I'm an 80's junkie...so that's what I listen to...80's new wave
I just started to listen to books on tape and it's actually working out well on workouts!
