Ladies who sleep with a pillow b/t their legs/who have hip pain
I have had horrible hip and sciatic pain for over five weeks now. NOTHING is helping. Last night I thought I would try to sleep with a pillow between my knees and see what happened. Well, all that happened was that I woke up CONSTANTLY to adjust the pillow, and when I got up for good, BOTH hips were sore.
I can't take it! I walk a lot (I work in the city and live near a great walking park) and I've been taking cabs and stuff because I can't deal with the pain.
I haven't mentioned it to my OB because I feel like it's just something I have to deal with ... but if it's only going to get worse from here I don't know how I can go another 25 weeks!

I used a snoogle pillow but it didn't work well enough for me. Now I have a preggle pillow and it's better

I have really bad sciatic pain. I notice it most when I'm sitting for a little while with out moving. Like my commute to work is about an hour and by the time I arrive at work and get out of my car I'm in SO much pain. It hurts to walk. I've been using the Boppy Total Body Pillow and it works pretty well. I still have pain in my hips when I sleep but not that often! I swear if I didn't have this pillow I wouldn't be getting the (little) sleep that I do! I loveeeee it!

My hip pain hasn't been as bad as yours, but the pillow between my legs at night reeeeeeeeeally helps. Maybe you can get a full body pillow that won't move as much causing you to wake up and adjust? Or maybe get a pillowtop for your mattress so it is softer? You are only going to get more uncomfy as the weeks go on (sorry ), so i would definitely try and tackle this issue now. Feel better!!

It's OK ... you're so funny, my co-worker said the SAME THING to me this morning (about it only getting worse from here)! I've come to terms with it.
I will try a full body pillow but I just don't see where we will have enough room ... Meh!
Thanks ladies!

Re: Ladies who sleep with a pillow b/t their legs/who have hip pain
I actually find a SMALLER pillow is so much easier to deal with between my legs. I've been sleeping with a throw pillow between my legs for years. The little travel pillows work great too. You can get them pretty cheap at Bed Bath & Beyond. Whenever I try to put a full-size pillow between my knees it's the worst!
My OB recently suggested I ice my back 2x per day to help with the lower back pain. I only did it a few days, but when I remember, it really does help a lot! Feel better!

Thanks Sandy! I did try first with a throw pillow last night though. I think I'll try the full body pillow and see if that works ... hope it does and it's not just a waste of money!

I have the Boppy Total Body Pillow too. Do you ever wake up and its over your hip instead of between your legs and it feels like its attacking you?

Yes! The worst is when I wake up to pee in the middle of the night. I'm half sleeping and trying to wrestle it so I can get up

Re: Ladies who sleep with a pillow b/t their legs/who have hip pain
I bought the snoogle yesterday and I used it for the first time last night. I got an excellent nights sleep. I was having really bad pain running down my legs the night before and i really think that it helped me.

Try a thinner pillow, or put a comforter between your knees. I used a pillow that was too fluffy and had killer back pain in the morning.
and feel better!
