Ladies with MTHFR/Factor V Leitin...
I know there are a few of us on here so.... here goes:
Yesterday I asked my OB if I will have to continue on Lovenox after the baby. He said that is something I need to discuss with my internist or hematologist. Well, I don't have either one of these since we only found out I had this when we did IVF - and since then the only person I have seen have been my RE and then my OB.
Do you see a heatologist or an internist? Can you recommend anyone in my neighborhood - i.e., Seaford/Wantach/L-town and adjacent areas?
Thanks!

My sister did. I don't know anyone here but I think you should be. This is your highest risk for clots. Maybe go through your insurance and I would say hematologist is the best bet

I know what you mean but they are more "scientists" ya know? I don't think the bedside manner matters as much as say....an RE!

Re: Ladies with MTHFR/Factor V Leitin...
Kara, I am in the same boat as you. I never knew about this blood clotting diorder until I went to my RE.
I would like to set something up with a hemotologist as well for after I delver.
Once you are pregnant @ my Re's practice you move over to a Perinatal specialist.
I asked my regular ob/gyn and he said as that my high risk specialist is very good @ treating this and not to worry- I am monitered 100%.
Karenew from this board recommended her hemotologist to me- let me know if you are interested- that Dr. is in Manhattan though.
I am going to speak to my specialist on Tuesday re: this same concern.
Good luck!

Thats true maybe you could see an MFM. My Dr referred me to someone at NS. Do you want me to find the name?

What's an MFM? And if NS is North Shore, then .... sure!! That's where my OB is anyway. Thanks.
