It will be great not having to travel 30-40 minutes to go to a Lowes and I prefer them over HD, so this is great! 10-15 min away and I could spend so much while there too!!!!!

I never bothered going to the other Lowes (I did once to check it out, but no follow-up visits) because I had to pass at least 2 HDs to get there. Didn't seem worth the trip. Now that it's about the same distance from my house as any HD, I'll definitely be going there once in a while. Not during the Grand Opening, though. That's going to be pure chaos!

I am so excited to have this Lowes only about 5 minutes from our house. We rarely went to Lowes because the other ones were further!

I was thinking about this while reading your thread on your vanity. I have a list of things to buy at Home Depot but I've been holding off because I figured Lowes would have a sale when they opened.
I saw the "COMING SOON" signs go up last week and was SO EXCITED!! Having a Lowes 3 miles from the house is just dangerous.

Really? The Setauket one is less than a mile from the Lowe's store! I'm afraid this is going to make the traffic there even worse...I drive by there every day, and around the holidays with the mall and the bookstore there it is so congested!

I just got back from buying blinds and stuff at Lowes and received 20% off my entire purchase since I was shopping between 4pm and 8pm. I was thrilled!!

Uh oh! This could get me in trouble... I'm going there tonight and should be there by 5. 
I'm supposed to just "comparison shop" but we did decide on an area rug that they have, at least on their website. Then there's the outside equipment that we need for our summer landscape projects...
Why do I feel a shopping spree coming on?

Anyone get any sales between Tuesday and today? I went Monday and was told their "Grand Opening" wasn't till Tues. I asked if they were going to have any sales (I have my eye on an area rug), and didn't get a straight answer.
The store is nice and what you would expect. It smells new. There are more employees than customers so if I paused to look at anything, there was someone right there to ask me if I needed help.

Ilike Lowes so much better than HD. I know its a home improvment store and you go there to get all sorts of construction stuff BUT I hate sifting through all the crap to try and find something that isnt broken or missing pieces.
Lowes has more decorating stuff and is set up a little better

DH & I went tonight. There weren't many sales and we were disappointed in one employee who was rude to DH as soon as we walked him. He reported the complaint to the manager. I hope they get these kinks out.
