Lamaze in E. Npt/Npt/Huntington area?
I've called the Lamaze instructor recommended by my OB's office twice - with no return call. I'm now 6.5 months pg and a little nervous about getting into a class in time. Can anyone in the Npt/E Npt/Huntington area recommend their class/instructor? I'm delivering at Huntington Hospital. TIA!

I can give you the phone number of someone who will come to your house to do a private session if you cant get anyone else. I waited too long as well and couldnt get into a class b/c they all met once a week for a few weeks.

I used a woman by the name of Karen. For the life of me, I can't remember her last name. Have you tried calling Huntington Hospital and asking them who they suggest (since the training is done in their hospital).

I'd call the hospital and see what classes they recommend.

honestly, just go for the hospital tour, take out a birthing video at the library and you are good to go. I feel like lamaze was a waste, I think every birth is individual, I read books, went to lamaze and when it came down to it...I found the method that worked best for me, and that was pure quiet and massage. The L&D nurse even asked me "did you take lamaze???!!!!" because I did not remember any of the breathing methods, my vote is don;t waste your time

Thanks everyone! I'll call the hospital and ask about the free class and also who they recommend. My OB's office is a big group for HH, and the person they recommend just doesn't return calls! I'll ask about the woman named Karen too. TIA!
Emilain - I keep hearing that Lamaze is a waste of time, but I want to try anyway. I figure it can't hurt.

i dont think lamaze was a waste of time. it shows you have to relax and also teaches you about what to expect. my dh said he is glad we took it. i think recently they changed the format so its not all breathing its a little bit about breathing maybe 15 minutes and the rest of the class is what to expect. drugs, different types of births stuff like that. i was going to wgm and i had karen as my instructor and she taught the class at hh. fm if you have any questions.
