Laminate Wood Flooring Costs??
Can someone give me a general idea of the total cost to install laminate wood flooring in a space about 850 sqft with all materials? (we aren't looking for anything too $$ just something that holds up well) There is parque flooring already in place and this is in a co-op. The room is pretty open from the foyer to the living room to the dining room and finally the kitchen.

Laminate flooring can cost anywhere from .99/sf to 3.99/sf; so that will depend on the floor you pick out.
The padding you need underneath is about .50/sf for a get the job done material.
Installation can be anywhere from 2.50-4.50/SF, depending on the installer.
Laminate flooring is easy to install and can be done by most homeowners.

Some laminate has the padding already attached.
I spent around $2000-2500 I believe in installing around 1400 sq feet of laminate.

Do you mind sharing what brand you used?
We won't be able to install ourselves. I'll be almost 8 months prego when we move in and DH has no handy man skills at all.

We won't be able to install ourselves. I'll be almost 8 months prego when we move in and DH has no handy man skills at all.
Sure! I used Pergo - the Elegant Expressions line. I went to Long Island Paneling, because my family has always gone to them and have gotten the best service and prices. Because I ordered so much (as far as sq. footage) they worked out a good price for me. They can recommend people to install it - I used the same guy as my parents had used (they used one of their recommendations). Very pleased.

We bought the flooring in Costco. We had our contractor install. We paid about $800 and we needed about 450 sq. ft. for the one room.
