landscaper recommendation
That's not going to be an arm and a leg...We need our front and our back redone..the back is pretty self explanatory bushes out, hedges out and just grass down...The front we want to do some sort of nice design, take out most of whats there and re-do it with something nicer...We have a lot of dead and overgrown bushes...I usually plant my own things, but taking everything up and then replaning while I'm 7 mos pregnant I'm not too sure that'll work and DH is not the handyist of men We're also hoping to not spend an arm and a leg on this...if anyone has done something like this how much did it run them???

Re: landscaper recommendation
My parents did this a few years ago except the put some stacked stone around 2 beds. It was about $20,000 (oh and no grass) just planting and redoing beds, making some new ones. taking out all the old stuff.

Re: landscaper recommendation
It is very expensive. We had about $6,000 worth of trees and shrubs cleared out. Then yard was seeded- $2,000. Then we had in front of the house only landscaped- mulch decorative trees and that was about $3,500.
Maybe do a little at a time.
1) have yard cleared of trees and bushes now
2) in late spring or early fall have grass seed done
3) Have some basics done in front for curb appeal
4) back yard last

HOLY!!!! the thing with the yard is that we need at least some of the things pulled out bc we want to put DD's swing set up when the weather starts getting nicer....DH and my dad seem to think they can do this themselves

Let them do it! It is soooo do-able. DH and I did ours including the stone retaining walls. It looks pretty damn good For the bigger bushes, we tied a chain around them, tied it to the bumper of my truck and drove. They all came out in about an hour. They were old and huge.
I will try and find some pics to show you.

Re: landscaper recommendation
We did this. Plan on spending around 10,000 or so, depends on what you want planted.
