Lansinoh BM Bags

I was just wondering if anyone else used Lansinoh BM Storage Bags in the freezer. I have been using my freezer stash of EBM and every single bag I have defrosted has had a leak.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem!

TIA - R

I have used them for the past 6 years on and off. I pump for the 1st year, the trick is you ahve to make sure yy get all the air out of the bad before you seal it up. almost like a toothpaste tube, roll the air up and out of the bag, if not, the bag will expand and it will tear. I rely heavily on my stock pile, I think i bag about 50 ounces per week!Chat Icon

Re: Lansinoh BM Bags

This happened to me too so I e-mailed Lansinoh and complained. They offered me replacement bags or a refund. They told me that they use a plastic that is less harmful (or not harmful - can't remember) than the bags by other companies but it is not as strong. They asked for the quality control number (that little slip of paper in the bag).

Re: Lansinoh BM Bags

I use ziplock freezer bags.....maybe 1/10 leak when I defrost them. The special bm bags are a gimmick, they are not really sterile and the regular freezer ziplocks work great and are much cheaper! Just write the date on the outside of the bag, make sure they are sealed, and you are good to go. I would lie my bag down flat and fold the top part over. Once it was frozen flat like that I could stack a whole bunch up and it saved lots of room.

I used the gerber bags and had no leaks at all.
