Odd question, but thought i'd ask....Anyone seen them cheap? I looked on ebay and craigs and it's really more than I want to spend.

I don't know if you definitely need one with and easel, but I put one up in my classroom over the chalkboard and it is called showerboard (from Home Depot of Lowe's) Basically it is paneling that is dry erase. They will even cut it to whatever size you need. It works really well, and is very cheap. You could always do that then buy a cheap easel as well.

really...do you remember how much are they? I do need it to be portable since I do not have a perminent room yet....but easils are cheaper than the dry erase boards.
I never thought to look there!

Re: Large Dry Erase Board (with easil)
For an entire chalkboard (the length of the front of the classroom) it was about $35. It is not as heavy as a dry erase board on an easel would be (if that makes any sense), but if you could find an easel and double stick tape it to the easel it would work very well (I double sided taped it to the chalkboard and it looks like it was made for the classroom) There is a place in Holbrook called the materials resource center and I know they have furniture - try them and see if the might have an easel for you - then you would be set. The center has stuff sooooooo cheap materials resource center

I've done the showerboard trick too at my last school. It's a good thing ;)
