Laser Hair Removal

My mom and I went for a consultation on Monday for laser hair removal. We both really want to get it done which means no more threading for me and no more waxing for her. It is a little pricey, but I am thinking if it really works, it is worth it!

Anyone get this done? Pros and Cons?

TIA
Danielle

Re: Laser Hair Removal

I had my first treatment last month and am for the most part happy with it. The hair has been growing back slowly, but not as thick. Prior to my first session, I was tweezing every day. I haven't touched the area since I got it done.

The negs are that I broke out badly. You have to put cream on the area everyday for the first week because the laser dries it out and can cause flaking.

I also pay $65 a session (I have 5-6 more sessions to go), which I think is pretty good as well.

Re: Laser Hair Removal

Thank you!

The place we went to says it takes 6 sessions and after that they guarantee for three years no regrowth. If there is, you treatments fo free.

They wanted about $300 for the upper lip and that was with a promotion.

Re: Laser Hair Removal

I would definitely give it a shot. That sounds like a great deal.

My sister had treatments done and because she loved it so much, I figured I would try it. She told me that she has to go back for touch ups once a year though, which to me is not bad either..I don't mind doing that as long as I don't have to tweeze and pluck every day.

Forgot to mention, it's a little painful..but VERY quick...plus you won't have to do it as often as threading or waxing. IMO it's worth it!

I had my legs done in 2003 and most of the hair is gone. I go back once a year for touchups. They only problem I can see you having is if the laser does not work. The laser I uses is call gentlelease (something like that) and it was the only one that worked on me.

I basically had my whole face done(lip, chin & sideburns) and yes it as SO worth it. I still go every 8 weeks for touchups.

My mom got it done today at a different place then where we went for our initial consultation. I am going to set up an appointment.

Re: Laser Hair Removal

My friend had it done and said it's one of the best decisions she ever made! She said it hurts quite a bit, like a rubber band snapping you every time they zap a hair, but once it's done, it's done.

If I ever have the extra money, I'm so doing it!

Re: Laser Hair Removal

I had it done several years ago on my legs (6 treatments). The hair does come back if you don't follow up with maintenance treatments (I think you are supposed to go once a year or something like that).

however, I have to say that the hair that did come back was very slow growing and sparse.

Re: Laser Hair Removal

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place to get it done? Preferably Queens or Nassau.

Thanks!
