Anyone had it done? Does it hurt? How much does it cost?

Re: Laser hair removal on bikini line
my co-worker is having it done (has only had one treatment). she said it hurt, but it wasn't too bad.
i'm having my chin, lowe legs, and underarms done.
i'm one of the rare people who gets an adverse reaction of red bumps, but they go away in no time.
i don't know about cost in ny i'm getting it done in philly
good luck on deciding

Re: Laser hair removal on bikini line
It hurts a lot less than a bikini wax, especially if you find a place that uses the Candela laser with the coolant in it. Prices vary by a lot, depending on which laser they use and how much training the person has.

Re: Laser hair removal on bikini line
I had epilight done there and my whole bikini area! I love it, I always say it was the best money I ever spent!
Mine was around 1K. The less area you do, the less it costs.

I did it too - best money I ever spent and I haven't had to shave my bikini area in forever. I didn't find it to be too bad pain wise.
I can recommend the woman who did it for me - she works out of Bangz in Merrick if you are interested. She is an RN who is certified in laser hair removal. I would also be leery of any firm that wants to offer you a "package" of treatments.

I did it. It didn't feel good at all, but not having to shave certainly is worth the trade off.

What are the reasons to do laser over good old fashioned electrolysis?

What are the plus and minuses of both? It seems like lasers are what everyone does lately.

Re: Laser hair removal on bikini line
I tried laser and found that it didn't work too well for me. I had too many blonde hairs that the laser wouldn't pick up.

Laser is just "faster" in the respect that you're in and out in minutes. It's not permanaent like electrolysis is either. They call it a "permanent hair reduction" I believe.
I've done both and I've had some hairs grow back with electrolysis as well. I have to say though, I've had an outstanding response to laser on my bikini line - I really haven't shaved it in years - which is unusual I believe for laser. You also usually can cover a larger area with laser faster than with electrolysis too.
It really depends on what you want to do.

This is common. The people that usually have the best response are fair skinned people with darker hair. Electrolysis might be a better option for you than laser.
