laser tattoo removal?

has anyone ever gotten a tattoo lasered off?
i went to the tattoo shop where i got my tattoos a few years back and asked about covering up part of a tattoo... they said they could, of course, but you'd always kind of be able to tell what it was. they suggested i get that part of the tattoo lasered off and then after that healed, have something else tattoo'd in that spot. makes sense.
they recomended someone but the office is kind of far from me. so i was wondering if anyone had their tattoo lasered off and if so, can you recommend where you got it done. also, what was it like - the pain? how many times did you have to go? and cost? TIA

I don't have any tattoos, therefore I've never lasered one, but I wanted to ask you if you've heard of this stuff. I hear it advertised all the time.

never heard of it. i'd definitely want to go with something proven and recommended by someone.

My friend had 3-5 treatments to remove her tattoo. It is def. lighter but you can still see it. Hers was Green & Blue & she said those are the hardest colors to remove. She said it hurt more then the actual tattoo but wasn't unbearable. It's expensive too. She was paying like $300 or something each time. Hers was big thou. About the size of a orange.
