Last Minute Emergency Flights
We need to fly down to florida in a few days b/c DH's grandma is very ill. the flight prices are ridiculous. does anyone know of any airlines or websites where they offer discounted fares in this sort of last minute emergency situation? thanks so much, in advance!!!!

I would try Kayak.com to compare prices. It does the search for you from multiple sites without having to go to all of them yourself.

I'm so sorry I don't think you're going to find much luck in prices cause of the vacation week - I'm not even sure you'll find many choices for flights!! If you can leave before Wed/Thurs - you prob have a better shot.
Any chance of Amtrack or something like that? I know it's not a great alternative, but planes are going to be really tough this week Good Luck!!

Thanks so much to all of you for your quick responses We've spent the whole day trying to make travel arrangements...but, in the end, we decided to book Jet Bule because it was the cheapest. about $900 for the two of us.

No, we just did this. We flew out of JFK to save money but the total for 16 tickets (14 were one ways-each way because we had no choice) was over $6,000!!!!
