Last minute weekend getaway?
DH and I had plans that fell thru -- so we're considering going away Friday night to Sunday morning somewhere. Trying to find cheap ideas that are a decent driving distance.
So far we're considering D.C., Philadelphia and maybe Boston....I haven't been to Philly in years and D.C. just a day trip or two....any areas in those 2 cities that we should try and find a hotel in vs. others? Or any other ideas?

Re: Last minute weekend getaway?
I've been wanting to go away to Baltimore for a while. Mainly b/c I'm an Ace of Cakes fan. Heard it's really nice though.
What about Hershey Park, PA

Re: Last minute weekend getaway?
Went to Philly in October and had so much fun!!!!!!
I was also surprised at how close it really is...I thought it was hours and hours away...
We originally booked a Sheraton a few miles out of the city center and when I saw how far it really was and the neighborhood, I switched to the city center Sheraton. It wasn't cheap but we only stayed one night so it was worth it and the hotel was so beautiful! They upgraded us to a suite...ask for Beverly, she was so nice! Free full breakfast too! Visit the Reading Terminal Market....foddie paradise...oh I can taste that smoked cheese right now....mmmm...and have the pork sandwich in there...to die for!

Wow--thanks so much. I might put Philly back on the top of the list now hearing an experience there.
I've found some cheaper hotels in the city center - so I was considering it but no clue what to do. That smoked cheese sounds YUM. lol

Re: Last minute weekend getaway?
I'm from Baltimore if you decide there. But I was also going to suggest Hershey. The park is closed, but the hotel is supposed to be nice with amazing spa treatments. Providence is nice too.
