Re: Last night
I want to try this too. I feel as though he is uncomfortable. Did you buckle him in, put a blanket under or anything? I am desperate!

Re: Last night
i wanted to buckle him but dh assured me there was no way he could get out...
I swaddled him...put the carrier in the bassinett facing me...and then covered him with a blanket tucked tightly on the sides...
I hope this continues to work...

Re: Last night
Wow, that's awesome! Emily loves the carseat also. SHe's only been in it twice but falls into a DEEP sleep every time! Right now she's sleeping in her aquarium bouncer. I just have to have her t otally conked out before I can put her in there, otherwise she wakes up.
I've been lucky. For the past 2 or 3 nights she's only woken up twice in the night. I hope this continues! It's so hard to function all day when youd on't get any sleep either!

Re: Last night
that is the only way my daughter would sleep, the doc said it is probably because she felt snug and confined like she did in the womb..i felt bad too thinking she was uncomfortable but if she was then she would not have slept!! good for you!!!get some sleep!!

Re: Last night
Marissa -- The past 2 nights Emily does NOT fall back esleep after her 11pm and 2-3am feedings, and she's totally cranky and fussy, so last night finally after being up from 11-5am with her, we tried this, and she fell right esleep!
I don't want her to get used to sleeping in the seat -- I want her used to her crib, but man, I needed the sleep so bad last night! Thanks for mentioning it!!!

Re: Last night
Have any of you used swaddling? After Miranda falls asleep on me I will swaddle her (we cheat and have swaddle me's, kind of like the miracle blanket) and she typically will stay asleep anywhere from 2-4 hours. She never will stay asleep unswaddled.

Same here... Alex had trouble falling back asleep at night so I started swaddling her using the miracle blanket. It works sooooo well. I wrap her up after she eats, jiggle her a little over my shoulder and shush really loudly and she falls back asleep within seconds and stays asleep for at least 3 hours... I started doing this about 5 days ago and ever since she'll sleep from 11pm-4am and from 4:30am-8am.

Did you try some of the other things that go along with swaddling? If you read the happiest baby on the block he gives a 5 step formula to put your baby to sleep. Swaddle, Shush, Pacifier, Jiggle and for the life of me I can't think of the other. I swaddled Alex in the beginning, but it did virtually nothing. Once I started implementing the other steps, like jiggling her a little and shushing loudly it worked like a charm. DH still cannot believe it. She'll be literally WAILING, and I'll wrap her up, jiggle her over my shoulder and shush loudly and within 10 seconds she's quiet and asleep.

Re: Last night
I swaddle Emily and make sure she's nice and warm to sleep. If she's even the tiniest bit chilly she'll wake up. Also we keep a "relaxing waters" CD running all night -- it's like rain and streams but no loud thunder and lightening and she really seems to like the "white noise" that it creates.
I've noticed though, she'll have 2 nights where the sleep pattern is the same, then the next two nights it's something different, and so forth. She changes a lot!

Re: Last night
Hayley will fuss after her 11pm(ish) bottle. She will fall asleep and then wake up as soon as I lay her down (even if she is swaddled). I end up falling asleep with her in the recliner as she is in my arms or on my chest. Some nights she is great and will stay asleep in her crib and others (like last night) her and I sleep in the living room..,.I miss my bed!!!
