Latest beta slowed ** Updated**
Hey ladies -
So our betas were rising soo nicely and now my latest on went up more slowly....I am so nervous..my IF battle is recurent loss and we have had 3 mc's in 9 months. We are on a new treatment this time so I am trying to be hopeful. We have a appt tommorow for a sono so hopefully that will give us more info..
Here are the numbers:
11/21 36
11/23 83
11/26 354
11/29 2,072
12/3 4,223
I am really trying to stay positive..do the numbers slow down as they get higher??
*** Hi ladies - so i just got home from the doctor...he thinks he saw a heartbeat..to me it just looked fuzzy but he thought it looked good..he said he is taking me off beta watch for now because they are making me CRAZY!!! =)..
we still have a long way to go and i have to go weekly for sonograms but I feel a little better. Thanks for all your well wishes..now we continue to wait and pray!!

Yes, as you progress, the beta's slow down a little - the rule of thumb is that, as long as they are doubling within 2-3 days, it's usually a good sign. They start tapering off though once they reach the 10,000 mark.

Yes they do slow. Are you checking your NK's? how about progesterone-has it dropped? The rise is still appropriate-just keep an eye on the levels above. GL!!
ETA: Have you had a sono?

We have a sono today so I am hoping that will tell us more..

I had my 2nd ivig infusion last sat and just sent my blood yesterday to recheck nk's..if the pregnancy looks like it is progressing we will have another infusion this week..
they have been chekcing my progesterone as well..it is in the 50's...
I am really really trying to stay hopeful that this pregnancy can make it.
I found this website that tells you your doubling times..(betabase.info)
anyway we went from 39, 34, 28 hours to 93..so I am a bit worried but for now all we can do is wait and pray..

Becasue you started lower than normal (my RE wants to see levels above 50 for first beta) your beta will slow down quicker than if it were a higher beta....
Your P4 is still very high and the numbers are rising so you should be ok...I know, this whole process sukks....your beta will slow down once it reaches around 4000 so that is where you are right now so try to be positive....
I hope you get a strong hearbeat on your u/s!!!!

Progesterone around 50 is a REALLY good sign. Progesterone dropping is an ominous sign in my experience. Try to keep the faith....MANY women have had betas that did not always double in a textbook way...Good luck Shaye

In the beginning of my pregnancy, my beta #'s didn't double at all. My RE told me that they look for a 60% increase in the numbers. I am now 8 months pregnant with a very healthy baby.

Thanks ladies..I am excited but still very cautious..we still have a long way to go till we are out of the woods and furthur than we were before...but baby steps and so far so good =)
