Laura Mercier mineral powder
so now that I've been wearing it for almost a week, I feel like I am qualified to review it
I feel like a cheat for going against Bare Minerals, I've been their biggest advocate for 2+ years. But I am happy to say that I have found something even better!
first, I don't use a foundation primer. Bare Minerals stayed on most of the day. but not all. Laura Mercier stays put ALL day long. it has a softer finish and the shade I am using (tender rose) is a much better match for my skin tone than BM was.
you get 2x the amount of BM for only $10 more. and lastly, it has a swiveling sifter cover for travel. goodbye mess!

the thing I like about LM the most is the amazing match to my skin tone. the BM fairly light was what I used and it was still a little too dark for me. but the fair shade was too light for me.
I'm very pleased

Re: Laura Mercier mineral powder
You have convinced me to try it! Where did you buy it? I'd like to test colors before buying.
I am in the same situation with BM--after seeing a recent pic of myself I look like I have a bad fake tan while wearing fairly light, but light is too light.
Does it have something equivalent to the mineral veil? Is the powder just foundation? I tend to get oily--do I need another powder for over the foundation?

I bought it at Sephora, but you can also get it at Saks and Bloomies. I just really love how it's a perfect match for my skin tone. something I never got with BM. it also has this "pearl-escent" finish. like a glow. love that!! this is what I bought
LM has this stuff called "finishing powder" which I believe is like mineral veil. link

maybe I should???? try it next time you're at Saks, Bloomies or Sephora. I just actually found all of the benefits when I posted the link in my previous post:
* Oil-free and water-resistent *Apply as a buildable foundation or a pigmented powder *Pure Pearl Powders & Mica impart a soft focus effect creating a natural, healthy, youthful glow *Zinc Oxide works as a sunscreen agent to block the sun's harmful rays *Contains anti-aging properties
anti-aging! the bonus program!

I have to have them help me- I am so clueless about make up and when color to get Beth - make sure they match your skin tone, have them put it on for you.
when I bought mine, I ended going right back into the mall after I saw it in natural daylight. I exchanged it for a lighter shade that was pefect. the lighting in Sephora is WAY too bright.
but you can always return it anyway - even if it's used.

Re: Laura Mercier mineral powder
Well, I made the mistake to switch from BM to Organic Physician Formula.
In my "defense", BM was no longer working for me after so many years. My skin started to react to it. So after considering Laura Mercier (I did not even really give it a chance to be honest), I got the Organic Physician Formula because it was at the local drug store and it was convenient. BUT I don't like it. It looks powdery. I do like the bronzer though.
I know I am going to try the Laura Mercier now. I guess your post reminded me to do it.
