Lawyers..Help BFing at work Question
My sister has a meeting with her boss and HR tomorrow regarding her return to work and BFing. They are out to give her a hard time. In a managerial position they have never had anyone in the office BF. She is so upset. She has really thought out her leave in order to help her job out and the trade show she runs. She was willing to come back to work after 4 weeks to help and hen work some days/hours drom home. They are turning her BF into an issue. Any help is GREATLT appreciated.

Re: Lawyers..Help BFing at work Question
What state does she work in? BF laws vary by state, but I'm sure if you went on the La Leche League or Kellymom sites they'd have ladies who'd be able to help with the legalities in any state.
Good luck, I think it's crap they are giving her a rough time.

Re: Lawyers..Help BFing at work Question
We are in NY and there is no legislation regarding BFing at the workplace, just laws to protect BFing in public.
One of her big things toorrow we be ablout all the smokers who take 6 breaks a day to go outside but she can't have time to pump. I'm hoping they realize that they need to work with her. My mom and I told her that if they continue to give her a hard time to say "Then I'm going to take my full 12 week FLMA that I am intitled too and find someone else to run the trade show this time.

Re: Lawyers..Help BFing at work Question
I think it is crap too that they are giving her a hard time....
BUT make sure she is entitled to that 12 weeks of FMLA (that she had been there over a year and that there are more than 50 employees, etc) and personally I wouldn't use the smoker excuse to them. No one condones smoking and that is what they are going to say. Trust me, my las job they were major azzholes about my pregnancy and I had to fight tooth and nail for things and then they fired me on my 29th day of sick and vacation time before DS' birth. I was no protected under FMLA.
