Re: Le play cafe?

Sounds great! I saw a place like this on Super Nanny & said to DH how awesome would it be to have a place like that around here & if we had money....

I believe it said open play was $10.95, no time limit

Re: Le play cafe?

I went there and it was nice (small), but the problem I saw was this: Over two years old you can leave your child to play while you surf the web, drink coffee- whatever. Under two you need to stay with your child. There is staff there to assist. While I was there with DS (under 2) some other child made a stinky poop! Since the parent of that child was not in the play area they did not know about it. The staff never said anything and it began to smell very nasty. (Again, the play area is not that big) I actually had to leave with DS because it got really bad. I also think that the size is a problem...it is a little too small to handle a large number of kids.

I agree about the size issue, as well as the parents of older kids not being in the play area. I went there a few weeks ago with about 5 other friends, all of our kids are bw 6 months and 14 months, so we were all in the play area with them. The 2 youngest, basically just sat with their moms the whole time, while the others in our group played with different things in different areas. It's really cute that they have stuff for all different age groups, but even though I was with my son (11m) the whole time, he still got shoved, almost knocked over, and pulled off a slide by an older kid whose mom was outside the play area and not watching. Obviously, if this had happened between kids of the same age, it wouldn't be a big deal bc they can all defend themselves. But my poor little boy didn't know what to do with himself. I wish there was a batter separation between the different age-appropriate areas.

DD loved this place but the cafe part really isn't so "cafe-ish". don't get too excited about that part!

I agree with that.
It's 10.95 and they do do birthday parties...all my experiences there have been great, the staff is usually on the kids like hawks...I've even seen a kid take a toy away from my DD and the staff quickly got her another one so there wouldn't be an all out brawl Chat Icon
